Paint Pot

In this painting, I have veered into the addition of Cadmium Yellow Light.  The varieties are a little surprising to me.  I have also found that a photographed look at the painting is quite a bit different than the actual piece.  Is this a little like looking at the painting in the mirror?
Last week, I had the pleasure to meet, Carol Carmichael, a fellow traveler in this pursuit of painting.  Her studio is filled with her amazing artwork.  She has been painting a very long time, teaching art, encouraging others.  I'm hoping I will get to see her again in Birmingham.

    Your exploration with a limited palette is very interesting! It really is fun to see what an additional color will do.

    Beautiful painting- color of the pear is beautiful! I also went back to a limited palette and have enjoyed seeing what beautiful colors you have with wonderful harmony.

    Yes, I think it's a bit like the mirror trick. Of course, in my photos, I find the actual colors very hard to capture so there's that difference to also take into account.
    I really like the wonderful range of greys you are achieving in your little paintings.

    Very nice subtle brushwork in this. Nice lost edges. Love the yellow pear against all the cool colors. Thanks you for the mention. Great visiting with you.
    Your blog thumbnail is not showing your image. Not sure how to correct this. Lots of artists have been having this trouble.
