Suzanne Stewart, Austin painter, has joined the blogging world. It seems such a stretch, but I would like to share some insights I have gained. My painting experiences have formed a new and exciting path. Please share your comments with me. What will survive of us is love.

Poppy Season, Spring Has Sprung
Today's work is poppy red, mining all the vast tonal selections of tubed reds. We are just about to have poppies here at the ranch. Some bluebonnets have started to bloom. Best time of the year!
oh this poppy one is just luscious...lucky you having poppies coming into bloom down there...i poked at a hyacinth this afternoon that was 1" out of the ground...will be a while before our poppies take off.
Your red poppy is the sunshine to this cold, but wonderfully rainy day. I believe we're in for a wildflower fest this spring! This is my first visit to your blog, Suzanne. Lovely paintings.
Delicate and lovely. Reds can be difficult to paint, especially those highlights.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous painting Suzanne. Love the rich potent colors especially.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous painting! And how wonderful the coming of the Poppies, must be quite a sight.
ReplyDeleteLove the texture of this poppy. I can feel the crepe like petals.

ReplyDeletePoppies? Seriously? I am SO jealous! These are so lushly painted - and I can't even get anything but tulips at the supermarket!
